Steps
Fastest: one-click import
With Chatbox 1.15.1 or later installed, click "One-click import" at the top of this page, let the browser open Chatbox and confirm. The address, key and recommended models are filled in; go straight to step 5. If it fails, add the provider manually from step 2.
Add a model provider manually
Open Chatbox, click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar → Model Provider → Add at the bottom of the list. Name it CherryChat, set API Mode to "OpenAI API Compatible" and click Add.
Fill in the API key and API host
Leave API Path empty. The Preview line below should then show https://gpt.cherrychat.org/v1/chat/completions.
- API Key: sk-your-key (Do not add "Bearer")
- API Host: https://gpt.cherrychat.org (The domain is enough; Chatbox adds /v1/chat/completions)
Add models
Under Models, click Fetch to pull the CherryChat list and pick the ones you want, or click New and enter the model ID below. You need at least one model before checking the connection.

Check and start chatting
Click Check next to the API key; "Connection successful!" means you are done. Start a new chat and choose a CherryChat model under "Select Model" at the bottom.
Common pitfalls
- Put the domain in API Host and leave API Path empty; trust the Preview line. https://gpt.cherrychat.org/v1 as the host also works, but then API Path must not be /v1/chat/completions or you get /v1/v1/….
- Choose "OpenAI API Compatible", not the Claude or Gemini modes; this guide uses the Chat API.
- No spaces around the key, and no manual "Bearer" prefix.
- One-click import needs Chatbox 1.15.1 or later. The import link contains your key, so do not share it.
